I heard this acronym of LIFE that’s worth passing along. It is L – Learn, I – Implement, F – Fail, and E – Evaluate.
Learn: Viewing life as an opportunity to learn continuously is in itself, life-giving. You don’t expect to wake up to the same old thing. Rather, everyday is an adventure, a chance to feed your curiosity and sense of adventure. When we learn, we grow.
Implement: To implement is to take action. It is putting into practice, what we have learnt. There are some things like swimming that we can learn all about and yet never really know, util we get into the water and paddle like crazy. Implementation produces progress. We are able to move from a place of imagination to true knowledge.
Fail: Failure is a step on the way to success, not the end of the road. It is a fact of life. This is often hardest for most of us because it causes us to acknowledge our weaknesses. But, when we look at failure as just another aspect of life, we are more positive and are actually able to succeed beyond our wildest imagination.
Evaluate: Finally, evaluation facilitates growth. Evaluation is periodically taking inventory of our thoughts, actions, goals, and accomplishments. One should do this weekly when working towards a goal and moreso after a failure. Determine what worked, what did not, and how to move forward. Without evaluation, we run like the proverbial hamster on a wheel, running hard but getting nowhere. Evaluation helps us level-set.
LIVE boldly – Learn, implement, Fail, and Evaluate. Repeat.
