Discipline is my word for the year.

Rosetta Thurman, millionaire and CEO at Happy Black Woman charged us to have a theme word for 2019. I chose discipline. It is a trait I’ve neglected since college. During my school days, deadlines were enforced. Afterwards, I’ve been shifty on completion dates especially regarding what I need to do for myself. I’d make excuses, move deadlines, procrastinate, and rationalize non-achievement of goals and dreams.

This year, I plan to do better. So far, I have re-established a budget, completed several writing pieces, created and deployed a brochure for school visits, and increased my social engagements.

I haven’t met the deadline set for January 31 to complete the first draft of Lagos Jump, skipped one or two weeks of posting articles on Nigeriaworld, and haven’t turned around my revision of Achenyo and the Water Hyacinths yet.

I am working on discipline.
