Searching for the perfect wife

“My sister, I really want to get to know you. For years, I’ve been praying and crying to God to give me a real wife, you know, a helpmeet. He has finally answered my prayers.”
“What about your children? Did you not marry their mother?”
“Not really. I married her under the traditional custom, but I’ve sent her back to her people. She was never my wife. I was introduced to her by my cousin who unbeknown to me, had been her boyfriend. And their relationship continued even after our marriage…”
So, she cheated on you?”
“No, she listens to my cousin all the time. I tell her something, she doesn’t do it. She only does what my cousin says. Forget about her.”
“So, you’re divorced?”
“No, there’s no divorce in traditional marriage. I just left her in the village and married someone else.”
“So, you’re married?”
“No o. That’s what I’m telling you. I’ve not been lucky with women. That’s why I’ve been praying to God to give me a good woman. The woman I spent money on and planned to bring to America, swindled me.”
“Wow, that’s unfortunate. So, you divorced her too?”
“My sister, if not for a friend who introduced me to an oyibo woman who helped me with my papers, I would have lost everything.”
“So, you’re married to an American?”
“No, that relationship is over. She doesn’t like children and I want to bring my children here to live with me.”
“You know, it’s difficult for non-biological parents to deal with other people’s children. Perhaps, you should give her a chance.”
“No, forget that one. God brought you into my life for a purpose. After all, you won’t hesitate to take my children in.”
“Perhaps not. How many children are we talking about?”
“Six. I will only bring my younger children so that they can go to school here.”

“Hmm… three women and none of them fit your criteria.  Ehm… I don’t think God is telling me to be your helpmeet o.”
